November 23, 2013 marked the fourth year of the Ampatuan massacre - the single deadliest event for journalists in history where 32 of its 58 murdered victims are members of the press. Also, November 23 is observed as the International Day to End Impunity as declared by IFEX.

 

Our student organization in the University of the Philippines, Union of Journalist of the Philippines - UP Diliman (UJP-UP), lead the campaign in this year's commemoration, entitled BREAK FREE. I designed a comprehensive primer of the impunity and press freedom situation in the country, including case updates of the massacre. We were able to print out (photocopy) and distribute around 900 copies of the primer. I also produced the main poster of the week-long campaign event.
